Our verdict
The AeroPress brews by pressing hot water through coffee and a paper micro-filter, which gives a smooth, full-flavoured cup with very little grit and less bitterness than many immersion methods. It is compact, quick to clean, and forgiving of grind size, which makes it a strong first brewer for someone who is still learning. The single-cup capacity is the main limitation: brewing for a group means repeating the process cup by cup.
